Standing Martingale Solo showing halter Pair it with the restA standing martingale is similar to a running martingale, but instead of having 2 straps with rings that attach to the reins, it has 1 strap that attaches to the back of the noseband. It is used to prevent the horse throwing it's head around or lifting it's head too high, preventing the horse hitting the rider in the face when it is turned or stopped abruptly. When the horse pulls upwards on a standing martingale, it applies pressure to the horse's
