Apply a light lubricant to the seal's outer edge before gently tapping it into the engine case, ensuring a straight insertion. Use a suitable sized socket or similar tool to press only on the outer diameter, avoiding contact with the glass. If the engine block lacks a groove, earlier models may not require the included clip.
