Gourd Carved Bottle Vessel from Marbled Clay with Umber Opening bird mug Ophelia - Named so forWheel thrown vessel with narrow opening. The carving adds a fluid yet structured look as the layers of clay throughout the marbled body emerge. I don't use templates as I carve I look to accentuate the form. The finished vase does beckon to be held, it is very tactile and the grooves catch shadows in a dramatic way. This vase is made from porcelain and a Brooklyn red clay. Outside is left bare, and sanded smooth. Measures about 7"h x 6. 25"w Inside
