Rosarita and sterling silver etched locket Amber Dark green marquise chrysoprase setLocket is set with rosarita, a slag glass that is a by product resulting from the refining of sand containing gold in open smelting, a process used in Alaska until the 1960 1970's. This locket is made of sterling silver and is etched with images related to the processing of gold in Alaska that resulted in the formation of rosarita. The front of the locket is etched with US geological survey elevation maps of Nome, Alaska. Nome is located on the Seward
