Description
These impressive wagons were built by Bombardier/Prorail of Wakefield in 1998 and designed to carry spent nuclear fuel from Royal Navy nuclear submarines from their bases at Devonport and Rosyth to Sellafield for disposal and typically ran with double headed Class 37/6 locomotives (also available from Accurascale here)
being repainted in April 1956 after a heavy general overhaul while allocated to Carmarthen
the actual building at Odney in Berkshire was always known as a Lullebrook Manor
as a standard pool locomotive is used all across the country from china clay work in the southwest to Biomass in the north but its always treated as a bit of a “pet” by DB staff
