The image was loosely inspired by the Deserted Village on Achill Island off the west coast of Ireland where the stone cottages run along the southern slopes of Slievemore mountain

I use different types of linen, some very old, to make my collages. I sew the pieces together by hand using a variety of stitches and embroidery techniques. Each collage is unique.
