Carp Tureen by Mottahedeh Caspari holds a special place inCarp Tureen by Mottahedeh This exact reproduction of a monumental tureen (circa 1740 60) is one of the oldest objects in the Mottahedeh assortment. It is fashioned as a tureen, but we can't image who would serve soup with it. Besides the dramatic and elegant sweep of its body and lustrous coral color with touches of gold, one is impressed that this sculpture defies the essential nature of hard porcelain, which is to slump in the kiln when the ceramic
