Each is hand painted in a saturated color and glazed matte white on the outside

The turquoise wash glaze leaves evidence of brush marks appearing as a watery surface

Outside is sanded for a smooth silky feel

Marbled Vase with Turquoise Rim (2) chicago ceramics I made a school projectMade from a composite marbled clay it features a pure white porcelain, a contrasting rich Brooklyn red clay. The outside is left unglazed, show casing the poetic landscape of rivulets ebbing and flowing which emerges from the throwing process. These medium vases start with the same amount of clay, and must have a flared rim, but besides these guides, I explore different shapes within these restrictions each is truly unique.
