Martin Bowl-back Mandolin No. 4840 (1916) Size_ 12 in The Songster features an inlaidlovely old Martin bowl back mandolin with Spruce top and what appears to be Rosewood side back. Other features include inlaid tortoise pickguard, metal housed tuning machines with decorative etching and chippendale carved headstock. This mandolin is in good vintage playing condition with a straight neck and comfortable action. The bridge has been filed down a bit to keep the action playable and could be filed further if desired.
