Inspired by the calliope (steam organ) that used to play at the Sydney Royal Easter Show

Simply imagine a perpendicular line coming from the centre of the pointers

I came up with the idea of creating contrasting sections that use the same melody - a bit like a theme and variations

It was also a test piece for the North Shore Primary Schools Band Festival in 2012

The movements 'Air', 'Strathspey' and 'Reel' are traditional in style. Comes with optional parts for violin and cello that cover the viola. Total duration around 6. 30.
