Mid 20th Century Japanese Multicoloured Sakiori (2) Garden FurnitureThis beautiful piece of sakiori originated in Japan within the Showa period. Most sakiori pieces date from the Showa period as cotton cloth became more widely available. This type of fabric is known as sakiori which is where small torn pieces of fabric are wrapped up and then sewn together to create a tube like effect. This specific piece of sakiori has a stunning array of colour throughout, and a deep blue patch on the back which is revealed on the

This phenomenal Ming style bench is made from a type of Rosewood called hongmu which gives it that gorgeous dark colour

The measurements are as follows: H - 35cm

there is some wear on the bottom

It has also adopted a 'yoke' style as it has a winged top

and stands on a hand crafted blacksmiths stand which emphasises the true quality of this jar

These specific cushions have a simple yet lovely blue and white tartan pattern on the front

These two stunning buddhas would have been hand-carved by a Laos tribe in the late 19th century

which is surrounded by dark green leaves

The wood has been hand-painted a lovely red colour but also showcases specks of blue paint too
