(New EL84s typically test from the mid 20s to mid 30s with transconductance from 7000 micromhos

new in box DuMont 6LU8 tube tested to spec on our Paul Hart-calibrated TV7/U

new in box GE black plate 6CL6 tubes was tested on our Paul Hart-calibrated TV7/U for shorts

They are dead quiet when the preamp is muted and have excellent frequency response

Both tubes were made in the same factory just as RCA bought out Cunningham

It measured 78/80 where minimum (65%) is 50/50 and 100% is 77/77

" Tube one has a brown base and 59-43 date codes while Tube Two has 1-17 date codes and a black base

Transconductance measured 48/48 for Tube One and 52/46 for Tube Two where minimum (65%) is 32/32 and 100% is 49/49

035 and 226 date codes

Tube Two is a bit microphonic and it is therefore recommended that this matched pair not be used in areas with excessive vibration

I played it in one of my Radio Craftsmen RC-2 monoblocks and it sounds outstanding even though it tests on the cusp
