Written for a milestone birthday for a friend at the request of his wife - a school band director

This piece is a very easy rock chart that uses simple syncopation and the blues progression

The melody moves through most sections of the band and every part has important moments to play

It also had some great feedback from adjudicators who I think appreciated a young guy having a go at writing a piece

Great care was taken to ensure the easiest 5 or 6 notes are used for each instrument. Heroes March was selected as a test piece for the Yamaha Band Festival in 2011 and performed by over 30 bands in the beginner section. It was also a test piece for the North Shore Primary Schools Band Festival in 2012. Available in print and PDF download.
