Jean-Marc Millot, Clos Vougeot Grand Maupertui Brut Zero in the (rightly named) Unico
$1220.00
Description
in the (rightly named) Unico method (72 months’ oak)
The palate is a bit meatier
I would further note that this is less austere than is typical for a young Corton and as such it could probably be approached after only 7 to 8 years
I would give it a few more years to see where it goes
On the palate it’s immediately clear that the medium weight flavors don’t possess the same incredible density that many of the wines in the range possess though I underscore that they are by no means dilute
Jean-Marc Millot, Clos Vougeot Grand Maupertui Brut Zero in the (rightly named) Unico(from a . 38 ha parcel). This too is completely reduced and unreadable in its present condition. Otherwise the fresh, bright and intense medium weight flavors also possess a really lovely texture along with fine definition on the markedly austere and equally firm finale. I very much like the persistence and once the nose cleans up, this should amply repay extended cellaring.
