Vandoren Java alto sax reeds box of 10 DJ equipment 8x Violin 2The JAVA reed was developed in the early 1980's in order to target Jazz and popular music players. The reeds have a thicker tip when compared to the standard 'Blue Box' reed but also a more flexible palette. The latter allows vibration of a much larger surface area which allows much more freedom when it comes to 'bending' the notes. They create a clean, bright sound and the response is immediate.
