There were no shorts or gas. Transconductance measured 68 75 for Tube One and 72 68 for Tube Two where minimum (65%) is 56 56 and 100% is 86 86 They have matte, black 17MM plates; goal post getters; steel support rods and excellent flashing. I have played them in my Radio Craftsmen RC 2 monoblocks
