Note that the less successful examples that I have tried have had finishes that have been marred by a slight dryness

indeed the mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is chiseled though the tannins shaping the short finish are grippy and serrated

Whether or not this singular Scharzhofberger Kabinett will display the longevity usually associated with that genre
