Engraved on the inside bottom of the panel is a very small Japanese character above the number 8 9 1 which is below a 3-petal floral emblem or logo with a Japanese character in it's center

The C-12 Altimeter was used across all aircraft of the Air Corps US Army and US Navy including heavy bombers B-17 and B-24

This altimeter has a service stamped date of March 1991

The larger buckle may be home made. The smaller brass buckle was normal issue in 1940. The smaller buckle measures ~1. 5 x 2. 5 inches. The larger buckle measures ~ 2 x 4 inches.
